Sweet Baby Koa - Kyabram Newborn and Baby Photographer

Last week saw me capturing sweet, eight day old baby Koa together with her parents in her first ever photographic session. Can I say I just love when parents get involved in their newborns session. I realise it isn’t for everyone. Many of us have reservations about getting in front of a camera (I for one) but this is one session I feel it is super important to put those feelings aside and make the extra effort (thankfully Koa’s parents were all for family shots). There is nothing that shows off just how tiny your newborn is than a picture of them in their parents arms or hands. Trust me when I say these images will literally make you swoon in years to come, when you are reminded that your now much bigger baby isn’t the teeny tiny newborn you first laid your eyes when he/she entered the world.

For this particular session mum requested in her pre session questionnaire that earthy tones and neutrals are what she liked, and i’m so glad she did as they complimented Koa’s dainty little self perfectly. After parents have booked for a newborn session with Sarah Thompson Photography they will receive a little questionnaire. This questionnaire is designed to find out what parents likes and dislikes might be, do they have any favourite colours they wish to use in their session, or are there any items they wish to bring along to have photographed with their newborn. By filling in this questionnaire it gives me a good idea of how to set up and prepare for the session so that I am ready for when baby arrives. Parents can then see the set ups before I begin photographing and can let me know if there is anything they wish to have changed (this can often happen when parents arrive at the studio and see the extensive range of props available).

For this session I was able to use some stunning new headbands/tiebacks by the wonderful Bits & Bows By Zia along with various other props and items by vendors such as Timber and Tink, Cwitchi Coo and Graceland Designs just to name a few.

Baby Stella - Kyabram Newborn Photographer

Recently I was lucky enough to capture the beautiful Hill family again, after having previously photographed their journey with their first bub Nate. I had so much fun with this in home session which offered a nice change from my usual studio sessions. Their beautiful home together with the relaxed mood they were all able to feel in their own environment, made for some gorgeous shots of the new family of four.  Thank you for welcoming me into your home guys and for the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone a little and try something different. You have a beautiful family that Stella has complimented perfectly and I was honoured to capture that for you - Sarah x

Gorgeous Baby Violet - Kyabram Newborn Baby Photographer

Recently I met and captured Violet and her beautiful family. Violet was such a dream for her newborn session, making lite work of it the entire time! It was easy to see how well Violet slotted into her family of five, as you will see in the pictures she is adored by her two older siblings. Congratulations goes to mum and dad on such a perfect little family and baby girl!

Newborn sessions are without doubt my favourites to photograph. It is just the most special time for a family and you can literally feel the love and pride in the room when you are photographing these perfect little ones!

Baby Elijah - Kyabram Newborn Photographer

It was a pleasure getting to meet little Elijah and his family at his recent newborn session. Elijah is lucky enough to have two big brothers to look out for him and getting the three of them together in front of the camera was just gorgeous! This was my very last newborn session for 2017 and Elijah was such a good boy for me. I am so looking forward to photographing many more bubs in 2018 in my wonderful studio. Big thanks to all those that visited me in 2017, I loved getting to capture your special moments and memories for you!

Photographers itch - Kyabram Children's Photographer

So from time to time, actually who am I kidding, constantly as a photographer you find yourself looking at your surrounds and imagining how it would look in an image. So when those surrounds are on the road into town, the road you travel at least twice a day and you see this beautiful half arch of blossom trees right there just waiting to be photographed you get what I call the photographers itch!
I had this itch recently and needed desperately to do something about it! Spring is so stunning with all it's beautiful blooms and blossoms however they can be so short lived that the itch begins to get some urgency about it and you know you have to act NOW! Problem is you don't have any children booked in for outdoor sessions this week and by next week the blossom are sure to be gone. So this results in a quick plea to your six year old daughter who with the bribe of a very pretty pink dress agrees to a quick shoot.
So here is the result of that said shoot. Itch has officially been scratched!

This is a perfect example of what a Children's session would look like. Your little one in a gorgeous outfit, at a beautiful location, resulting in some pretty special images for your wall.

Baby Frankie - Kyabram Maternity and Newborn Photographer

I just love when I get to follow an expectant mum and family along on their pregnancy and newborn journey. Getting to see the excitement and expectations that come with pregnancy for my clients is one thing but then to see them with their newborn, the one they have been waiting to meet, is just beautiful! These guys were welcoming baby number two into their little family and we chose a gorgeous rustic location to capture them with their baby bump.

It wasn't long and adorable baby Frankie arrived making this family of three and new family of four! You can tell that Frankie is going to be very well loved by not only his doting parents but also his big sister Charlotte. Congratulations on Frankie's arrival guys and thank you for having me capture this special moment in your lives  - Sarah x
