Sweet Baby Koa - Kyabram Newborn and Baby Photographer
/Last week saw me capturing sweet, eight day old baby Koa together with her parents in her first ever photographic session. Can I say I just love when parents get involved in their newborns session. I realise it isn’t for everyone. Many of us have reservations about getting in front of a camera (I for one) but this is one session I feel it is super important to put those feelings aside and make the extra effort (thankfully Koa’s parents were all for family shots). There is nothing that shows off just how tiny your newborn is than a picture of them in their parents arms or hands. Trust me when I say these images will literally make you swoon in years to come, when you are reminded that your now much bigger baby isn’t the teeny tiny newborn you first laid your eyes when he/she entered the world.
For this particular session mum requested in her pre session questionnaire that earthy tones and neutrals are what she liked, and i’m so glad she did as they complimented Koa’s dainty little self perfectly. After parents have booked for a newborn session with Sarah Thompson Photography they will receive a little questionnaire. This questionnaire is designed to find out what parents likes and dislikes might be, do they have any favourite colours they wish to use in their session, or are there any items they wish to bring along to have photographed with their newborn. By filling in this questionnaire it gives me a good idea of how to set up and prepare for the session so that I am ready for when baby arrives. Parents can then see the set ups before I begin photographing and can let me know if there is anything they wish to have changed (this can often happen when parents arrive at the studio and see the extensive range of props available).
For this session I was able to use some stunning new headbands/tiebacks by the wonderful Bits & Bows By Zia along with various other props and items by vendors such as Timber and Tink, Cwitchi Coo and Graceland Designs just to name a few.
